No alligator here is ever put down. When a gator turns up in a backyard pool, a school, or a shopping mall, it comes to us — and gets a second chance.

Everglades Alligator Farm is committed to rehoming nuisance alligators, giving them a safe, natural environment to live out their lives peacefully. As a no-kill facility, we partner with local trappers and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) to rescue alligators from urban settings — schools, golf courses, backyard pools, shopping malls, or situations where wild alligators have been fed and cannot be safely relocated.

Instead of euthanasia, these alligators are given a second chance at life. Our team ensures a smooth transition to our breeding pond, where they thrive in a protected ecosystem designed to mimic their natural habitat — and every visit supports humane wildlife management, alligator conservation, and coexistence with Florida's native wildlife.

Working Gators

Gators With a Job to Do

Our alligators don't just live at the farm — they play an important role in education, research, and wildlife attractions across the region. Many of our gators are sent to zoos, educational centers, research facilities, and attractions to help teach the public about these incredible reptiles and Florida's unique ecosystems.

When a gator becomes too large to handle safely, we trade it for a smaller, manageable alligator to continue the cycle of education and conservation. The FWC also uses our alligators for career days and educational programs, inspiring the next generation of wildlife stewards.

Next time you see an alligator at a South Florida zoo, attraction, or educational event, there's a good chance it came from Everglades Alligator Farm — helping people connect with wildlife while supporting responsible alligator management.
